What Is Red Ink?
What it does
Red Ink analyzes your writing and provides structured feedback. Unlike basic grammar checkers that flag mechanical errors, Red Ink evaluates the craft of your writing — is the voice consistent? Is the structure serving the content? Does the pacing hold the reader? Are you showing or telling?
You submit a passage — anything from a blog post to a novel chapter — and Red Ink returns a detailed analysis with specific, actionable feedback.
Two analysis modes
Red Ink offers two complementary analysis models:
Diagnostic is the rapid first pass. It uses a single AI model to produce a quick assessment of your writing across multiple dimensions. Think of it as a skilled editor's first read — fast, experienced, and focused on the big picture. The Diagnostic highlights strengths, identifies weaknesses, and provides specific suggestions for improvement.
Jury is the deep evaluation. It submits your writing to multiple independent AI models, each analyzing it separately. The individual assessments are then synthesized into a consensus evaluation. Where the models agree, the feedback is high-confidence. Where they disagree, the divergence itself is informative — it may indicate an area where your writing is genuinely ambiguous or where different readers would have different reactions.
The showcase
Red Ink includes a showcase section featuring sample analyses of published creative writing. This demonstrates what the analysis looks like in practice and gives you a reference point for the kind of feedback Red Ink provides.
Who it's for
Anyone who writes and wants honest, detailed feedback — fiction writers, essayists, bloggers, students, professionals drafting important communications. Red Ink treats writing as craft, not just communication. If you care about how you write (not just what you write), Red Ink is built for you.
